Denef Tekir is a singer/songwriter, arranger, and producer from Istanbul, Turkey. Passionate about exploring different instrumentations and genres, Denef integrates Eastern motifs into Western music, blending them with her lyrics to create a unique and captivating experience. She has been testing this experimentation with her artistic projects, Loving Can’t Be So Hard (January 2024) and her newest single, Tell Me (February 2025).

Denef has lived in Boston for the past four years, focusing on vocal, orchestral, and big band writing, as well as scoring for advertisements. A member of the Class of 2025 at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, she is influenced by many genres, such as jazz and R&B. At Berklee, she studied contemporary writing and production. She made her mission to blend the modern and traditional elements of music to create unique and relatable experiences. Through her classical piano background, which she practiced at the Royal Schools of Music examination board, she believes that precision and versatility are key to creativity.

She continues working on her projects to create innovative spaces for others to join.
